Meet-and-greets are free, easy, and straightforward. I come to your home to meet you and your pet(s) and to discuss the services that you need. During this time I am shown points of interest such as where walk equipment, food and water, litter boxes, and other important areas are. I will answer any questions you may have, receive two (2) sets of keys, and we will pencil in a start date. Afterwards, you will receive two emails - one with a link to required forms and contract (which must be completed and submitted before service starts) and another with an account setup link for our pet sitting app.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! Dog Star Pet Services is a sole proprietorship licensed through Fairfax County. I have liability insurance and bonding through Business Insurers of the Carolinas. I am also a member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS). Proof of these can be found here or emailed to you upon request.
How do I know when you've seen my pet?
The app that you got a setup link for in your post meet-and-greet email is the perfect peace of mind! On my end I see my daily schedule and can click each individual appointment to check-in. I cannot begin a scheduled walk or visit without first taking a picture of your pet. The app automatically sends you an email alert when you pet has been cared for. In the case of walks, this also includes a GPS image of the route we took. If you don't want to receive these alerts, you may opt-out by request and I can manually disable that feature for you individually.
When is payment due for services?
You have the option to pay week-by-week or monthly. If you choose to pay monthly, payment is due on the first Friday of the month via check. If you'd rather opt for paying week-by-week, payment is due every Friday for that week of services. For the weekly option I accept cash, check, CashApp, Google Pay, and Venmo. You will be sent a digital invoice or payment request through your preferred app.
